With Covid-19 galloping across the globe, it was expected that some internal controls would fall out of focus. Short-term planning and survival is what it's all about, which gave room to those taking advantage of government aid plans and programs.

The United States Department of Justice has announced it has charged 57 people with stealing more than $175 Million from the Paycheck Protection Program – the United States’ Coronavirus aid package for small businesses.
